Victim Advocates Call for Repeal of Statutes of Limitations in Massachusetts
Sex abuse victims and their advocates have called on the Massachusetts Legislature to repeal statutes of limitations that prevent them from seeking justice from their abusers. At a Statehouse rally, members of the Coalition to Reform Sexual Abuse Laws said that some 130 representatives and senators support the bills, but that leaders of the Judiciary Committee are preventing a vote.
What's happening in Massachusetts is reflective of what's occurring across the country as more victims are seeking redress for crimes committed against them when they were children.
